Synopsis

This classic fairy tale receives a fresh take in a whimsical animated version. When young Jack is tricked into trading his family's valuable cow for a handful of beans, he plants them and finds they sprout a magical stalk reaching into the sky. Climbing the beanstalk, Jack discovers a bizarre and extraordinary realm governed by the enchanted Princess Margaret. The princess believes she is in love with Prince Tulip, despite his ugly looks and unpleasant demeanor; however, this is actually the scheme of Madam Noir, an evil witch who has bewitched the princess into marrying Tulip, her only son. Can Jack rescue the princess from this dreadful fate? Directed by Japanese animator Gisaburo Sugii, this loose adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk has gained a cult following for its imaginative story and wildly vibrant visuals.
