Synopsis
One ordinary afternoon, Suzuko is returning from school when she meets Shu, a child from her neighborhood, at a park. She decides to accompany him home, but they never arrive. A massive gas explosion engulfs them, yet instead of perishing instantly, Suzuko awakens on a Sengoku-period battlefield covered in corpses. When marauding bandits attack, a boy named Shukumaru—who is scavenging the battlefield to feed his starving village—rescues her. Though they manage to escape to his village, Suzuko is determined to find Shu and returns to the battlefield every day, with Shukumaru following along. Despite his coarse manners and complete lack of modern courtesy, Suzuko gradually grows fond of him. What fate lies in store for this young girl amid the violent turmoil of Japanese history?
