Twilight

Synopsis

Sachi Koyama, a gifted high school violinist, treasures her time at school and with her friends in the music club. She especially values her solo walks to the Iwaki, Fukushima, bus stop to admire the surrounding scenery. One day while walking, she unexpectedly encounters Yuusuke Kijinami, a familiar face from her usual route. Sachi helps Yuusuke find the perfect spot to capture the evening landscape for his art club's exhibition. Their shared appreciation for the sunset's beauty brings them together. This chance meeting brings two people who value living in the moment despite knowing its fleeting nature.

Background

Hakubo is the final installment in Yutaka Yamamoto's Tohoku Trilogy, a series of films produced to aid in the restoration efforts following the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. The charity project was intended to be crowd-funded, but the campaign did not raise the funds it was aiming for.
