Synopsis
Takashiro Shugo, the story's protagonist, is a former police officer currently unemployed and living as a freeloader at a brothel. Occasionally, he accepts detective assignments from his old superior. The narrative begins when a missing persons case involving Kohzuki Yura is thrust upon him. Yura is a woman with whom Shugo shared an intimate relationship prior to being deployed to war. While this search unfolds, a string of brutal murders takes place in the background. As these killings draw nearer to Shugo's circle, he can no longer ignore them and finds himself drawn into a spiraling web of events.
