Synopsis
Continues the story of Bem
In the coastal city of Libra, Detective Sonia Summers is assigned to a new post on the outskirts after clashing with her superiors. The city is divided into two zones: "the Upper," marked by wealth and political power, and "the Outside," where crime, corruption, and strange incidents involving monsters and youkai are rampant. As Sonia investigates each case, she becomes drawn into mysteries connected to these supernatural beings. She encounters three humanoid youkai—Bem, Bela, and Belo—who work to protect humans and fight the malevolent youkai threatening them. These Youkai-Ningen, living among humans while keeping their human-like forms, are rejected by both their own kind and humans when their true identities are exposed. Despite the challenges, Bem, Bela, and Belo continue to live in secret among humans, driven by their hope of one day becoming fully human.
In this installment
The narrative unfolds two years after the television series' conclusion. Sonia persists in her quest to locate the humanoid monsters. Her investigation leads her to Draco Chemical, a pharmaceutical company, where she encounters Belum Eyesburg—a man bearing a striking resemblance to Bem. In parallel, Belo continues his solitary battles, striving to allow Bela to experience a normal human life. Following his meeting with Sonia, Belum is plagued by nightmares that force him to doubt his own identity, and his tranquil existence alongside his wife and family begins to unravel.
