Synopsis

Boku Wa Ou-sama is an anime adaptation of a book series by Teruo Teramura and Shizuko Wakayama. The first volume was published in 1959, and with 49 additional volumes released afterward, it became one of the most beloved children's book series in Japan. The books and the anime chronicle the comedic adventures of Ou-sama, a foolish, gluttonous, lazy yet endearing and cute king. He searches for elephant eggs because they make the biggest omelets, his favorite meal, hides toys in the forest just to play tricks on his three wise counselors, or rides a bicycle around the castle.
