Synopsis
Boku wa Ousama is based on the book series by Teruo Teramura and Shizuko Wakayama and is a beloved classic of Japanese children's literature. Since the first volume debuted in 1959, the series has grown to fifty volumes and ranks among the nation's most treasured children's book collections. The anime stays true to the books, depicting the humorous exploits of King Ou-sama—a character who is silly, lazy, and loves to eat, yet undeniably endearing. His days are spent searching for elephant eggs to make his enormous favorite omelets, playing tricks on his three clever advisors by stashing toys in the forest, or simply riding his bicycle leisurely around the castle grounds.
