Synopsis

Year Hare Affair (Chinese: 那年那兔那些事儿) is a Chinese webcomic turned into an animated series by creator Lin Chao, first released as a comic in 2011 and as an animation in 2015. The work employs anthropomorphic animals as a national allegory, with China depicted as a peaceful and intelligent white rabbit, to portray 20th- and 21st-century political, military, and diplomatic history. This includes the Cold War-era rivalry among the "Rabbit" (China), the "Eagle" (USA), and the "Bear" (Soviet Union), as well as events like the Korean War.
