Synopsis

Continues the story of Cardfight!! Vanguard Highschool Arc

After the Vanguard High School Koshien ends, Kouji Ibuki starts experiencing strange dreams. Nome Tatsunagi summons Suiko to the mansion and explains that Kouji has the ability to perceive a dark tower called Sanctuary. This structure is warping historical timelines, and the only way to fix things is for Kouji to correct a future mistake. To do so, Kouji and Suiko must journey to the alternate dimension known as -if- and witness magical girls Emi Sendou and Shuka using Vanguard units to restore history. However, their progress is hindered because engaging in card battles against actual monsters turns out to be ineffective.

In this installment

This story centers on Shinemon Nitta—the future manager of Card Capital—during a time ten years prior to the reunion of Aichi Sendou and Toshiki Kai. The Tokura family's card shop, Card Capital, was on the verge of closing. Matters escalated when Esuka Hibino, the proprietor of a major card store, attempted to acquire the business. In response, Shinemon Nitta steps forward, declaring himself the "Self-proclaimed Manager!"
