Synopsis
Unbreakable Machine-Doll is set at the Walpurgis Royal Academy of Machinart, an institution established following the emergence of "Machinart"—a specialized form of machine magic that grants life and intelligence to mechanical dolls known as "automatons." The academy aims to train skilled puppeteers capable of commanding these automatons, which are increasingly deployed by military forces worldwide. Raishin Akabane and his humanoid automaton, Yaya, fail the academy's entrance exams but seek entry into the prestigious Evening Party by defeating one of the top 100 students. The Evening Party is a competition where puppeteers demonstrate their abilities through battles with their automatons, and the ultimate winner earns the revered title of "Wiseman" along with access to forbidden arts. Pursuing this goal, Raishin challenges Charlotte Belew and her automaton Sigmund to a duel. However, just before their fight, Sigmund is ambushed by other students. Raishin saves both Charlotte and Sigmund from their attackers and subsequently cancels the duel, forcing him to find alternative ways to qualify for the Party. Driven by past traumas, Raishin and Yaya set out on a journey to climb the ranks and secure the title of Wiseman.
