Synopsis
In the present day, the imperial court actively recruits foreigners, assigning them roles based on their unique talents with the aim of transforming their archaic civilization into something better. Zuo Yun Qi, an influential dissident, infiltrates the court disguised as a foreigner to rescue his father but is quickly unmasked by a landlord who is an expert at identifying outsiders. This encounter ignites a series of mental and physical clashes that oscillate between comedy and conflict, eventually leading the two to agree on a partnership. Although they manage to thwart one conspiracy, they soon discover another foreigner who has secretly formed an alliance to overthrow the current regime and establish a chaotic, free-for-all society. Faced with this new threat, Zuo Yun Qi and his group are compelled to take decisive action.
