In the 74th year of the Cosmic Era, the ongoing conflict between Earth's Naturals and the space-dwelling Coordinators nears its end. After a devastating defeat, Kira Yamato takes command of the Strike Freedom Gundam and sets out on a crucial mission with the Archangel's crew to destroy the Requiem—a weapon capable of annihilating most life in the universe. Kira is joined by his close friend and rival Athrun Zala, who must fend off the fury of his former subordinate Shinn Asuka, a skilled pilot of the powerful Destiny Gundam.
