Synopsis
In the peaceful, green nation of Simulacrum on the planet Daikuuriku, the land's survival depends on flying crafts called Simoun and the revered Sibylla pilots who control them. These aircraft, powered by ancient artifacts, can unleash Ri Maajon, powerful abilities that can tear apart the sky. Aaeru, a determined young woman, joins the ranks of the Sibylla priestesses at Chor Tempest with dreams of piloting a Simoun. Soon after her arrival, Simulacrum becomes involved in conflict as rival nations covet the Simoun technology. These threatened countries see the Simoun as key to preventing their own destruction and seek to acquire this advanced weaponry. With external threats and personal losses to face, the girls of Chor Tempest must navigate their new realities and uncover the mysteries surrounding their nation's core technologies—the Simoun and the Ri Maajon.
Background
A video game based on Simoun titled Simoun Ibara Sensou: Fuuin no Ri Maajon was developed by Marvelous Entertainment and released for the PlayStation 2 in 2007.
