Synopsis
Young animator Mito finds themselves cornered by a challenging sequence, an unyielding deadline, crippling self-doubt, and a director who appears completely unhinged. Occasionally, the sole path to breakthrough is to drive straight through the obstacle. Originally released on June 28, 2024, as part of the "Gemnibus Vol. 1" anthology, the film was simultaneously chosen for screening and subsequently premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival.
Background
First Line was released as part of Toho's GEMSTONE Creative Label GEMNIBUS vol.1 anthology. It is the only animated film in the lineup.
