Brynhildr in the Darkness

Synopsis

After his friend Kuroneko died in a tragic accident during an expedition for aliens, Ryouta Murakami spent ten years in a coma. When he finally wakes up, he returns to high school determined to keep his promise and find proof of extraterrestrial life in Kuroneko's memory. His life changes when Neko Kuroha, a girl who looks and is named just like Kuroneko, transfers to his school. Neko reveals she has supernatural powers and involves Ryouta in a struggle against rogue scientists who are hunting down escaped witches from a secret laboratory. As one of those escapees, Neko and others like her are in danger, and Ryouta must protect them from their relentless pursuers.
