Synopsis

In Asu no Yoichi!, Yoichi Karasuma spends his entire youth secluded in the mountains, honing the Soaring Wind, Divine Wind swordsmanship style under his father's strict training. By age seventeen, he has fully mastered the technique but begins to crave new experiences. His father then sends him to a modern dojo in the city so he can further develop his skills and learn how to live in contemporary society. Completely unfamiliar with current social norms, Yoichi's behavior and traditional samurai attire frequently cause amusing misunderstandings. After moving in with the Ikaruga sisters at their dojo, his lack of knowledge about everyday etiquette leads to one comedic situation after another. The story follows Yoichi as he tries to adapt to his strange new environment, struggling to fit into the modern world while building relationships with his new family.
