Synopsis
Set in the laid-back atmosphere of 1980s Japan, specifically in the coastal city of Onomichi, Yurie Hitotsubashi is an ordinary middle school student focused on her studies and her secret crush on Kenji, who has no idea how she feels. One day at lunch, Yurie jokingly tells her friend Mitsue that she became a goddess the night before. Another classmate, Matsuri, seizes this opportunity to revive her family's struggling Shinto shrine by installing Yurie as the new deity, replacing the ineffective Yashima-sama. Acting as Yurie's manager, Matsuri helps her manage her newfound divine duties—granting wishes, lifting curses, dealing with aliens, and attending god conventions. Amid these supernatural events, Yurie continues her regular school life while mustering the courage to confess her feelings to Kenji.
