Synopsis
Following the auditions for the Kyoto Prefectural Concert Band competition at Kitauji High School, ten members are not selected for the main ensemble. Though unable to join the primary wind group, these students form Team Monaka and dedicate themselves to supporting their fellow musicians in the lead-up to the competition. Their efforts, such as transporting equipment and crafting monaka-shaped talismans, become essential as the band experiences a poignant summer marked by hard work and emotion, striving for a national performance.
