Synopsis

Continues the story of The Fantastic Adventures Of Unico

Unico is a young unicorn blessed with a mysterious ability to bring happiness to everyone he encounters, whether through his cheerful nature or the magic of his horn. The gods grow envious of this power, believing that only deities should have the authority to grant or deny joy. They sentence Unico to exile on the Hill of Oblivion, tasking the West Wind with delivering him there. Unable to condemn such an innocent creature, the West Wind instead spirits Unico away on a neverending journey through different times and places to keep him safe from the gods' wrath. In this adventure, Unico meets Beezel, a devilish child, and later Katy (also called Chao), a cat who dreams of becoming a witch. Can he forge friendships with them?

This animated feature, based on a new theatrical adaptation of "Unico and the Kingdom of the Sun," centers on a confrontation between the wizard Kukuruku and the magical creature Unico. Kukuruku constructs a fortress using humans who have been transformed into its building materials. The narrative explores the anguish and fear experienced by those turned into dolls, while also tracing the efforts of a girl named Cherry, who seeks to restore the lost warmth in her brother—a disciple of Kukuruku. The film highlights Tezuka Osamu's enduring theme of transformation, showing how it alters not only physical form but also the core of human nature.
