Journey to the West: Legends of the Monkey King

Synopsis

Born from a mystical stone, Sun Wukong spent five centuries trapped beneath a mountain as punishment for his chaotic actions in the heavens. The goddess Guanyin foretold that the monk Tangsen would set Wukong free, and the two would then undertake a sacred journey from China to India. True to the prophecy, Xuanzang released Wukong, and together they began their quest westward. Along the way, they were joined by Zhu Bajie and the hermit Sha Wujing. As a group of four, they confronted numerous perils, including evil spirits and sorcerers, gradually learning to cooperate and trust one another.
