At Sunshine Academy, the Plum class is viewed as a group of poor performers, often called "the leftovers." Ruby and Kanon Mizushirou experience their high school life in a magical setting, dealing with their intricate friendship and their shared feelings for Mikage Shiraishi.

According to the legends of Jewel Land, the Jewelpets were brought into existence through the affection and devotion of their queen, Jewelina. One day, a mysterious meteor struck the Mirror Ball, shattering it into countless pieces, and the resulting fragments—known as "Deco Stones"—were scattered all across Jewel Land. In the present, Ruby, a scatterbrained Rabbit Jewelpet who runs the Kira Kira Shop, has a passion for shiny decorations and loves gathering anything that glitters and gleams. But when she and her companions hear the tale of the Mirror Ball and the Deco Stones, they set out to search for them. Along the way, they encounter five odd strangers called the KiraDeco 5, who share the same objective of collecting the Deco Stones. The two groups become friends, especially with one member, Pink Oomiya. Now, they must gather every Deco Stone and prevent the Eternal Darkness from conquering the human world.
