Chibi Maruko-chan Movie

Synopsis

Chibi Maruko-chan is the nickname for a sweet but mischievous 9-year-old girl. She plays tricks on her grandfather, spends a long time deciding how to use her allowance, and dislikes having to sit next to unattractive boys. She talks, feels, and lives exactly like real children do. When the second term begins, Maruko and her classmates go back to their usual little groups. Maruko’s group includes two troublesome boys, and she ends up being forced to act like one of their underlings. She seems to face a lot of stress at school. As the school athletic meet draws near, all the classmates are busy training. Maruko is no exception, even though her laziness sometimes makes her show up late. Maruko begins to realize that the two boys compete with each other in everything they do, and that their friendship is actually deep and strong.
