Twittering Birds Never Fly: Don't Stay Gold

Synopsis

Eishin Kuga, dubbed the Mad Dog for his ferocious demeanor, is caught brawling with his subordinates as Yashiro looks on, calmly waiting for his former companion to calm down. Underground physician Kanji Kageyama encounters the hotheaded youth Yashiro plans to bring into his yakuza organization. Despite Kuga's hostility toward Yashiro, Kageyama agrees to let him stay temporarily. Between Kuga's bare-chested presence, impulsive antics, and relentless provocation, Kageyama's earlier insistence that he is not interested in men may slowly begin to waver.

Background

Don't Stay Gold is an adaptation of the short story of the same name by Kou Yoneda. The OVA was included with the limited edition of volume 7 of the Twittering Birds Never Fly manga in Japan. It was licensed in English by Sentai Filmworks and premiered on HIDIVE on September 10, 2021.
