Synopsis
Continues the story of Taimanin Asagi
In a world where humans and demons coexist under an unspoken truce, some still break this agreement for their own benefit. To preserve the fragile balance, the Japanese government relies on the Taimanin—a select group of female ninja warriors tasked with keeping order between the ordinary and the supernatural. After defeating her archenemy Oboro, Asagi Igawa decides to leave the Taimanin and pursue a quiet life with her boyfriend, Sawaki Kyousuke. However, Oboro secretly survives by forging a pact with a demon. Driven by vengeance, Oboro captures Asagi, Sawaki, and Asagi's younger sister, Sakura, and inflicts relentless mental and physical torment upon them. Asagi remains steadfast but feels powerless as Oboro manipulates and degrades her loved ones in horrifying ways.
In this installment
One year has passed since the destruction of the Chaos Arena. Asagi and Sakura now find themselves on a deserted street of a massive artificial island floating atop Tokyo Bay. Constructed by the government, this enormous box-shaped landmass was dubbed "Tokyo Kingdom." The island was envisioned as a potential second urban center rising from the sea, yet it never managed to draw in businesses. The sole connection to the mainland runs through Honshu Island via the 10-kilometer Tokyo Kingdom bridge. Unfortunately, this narrow passage became the gateway through which denizens of hell slipped onto the island, attracting anarchists, criminals, and even illegal immigrants, turning the streets of this sea-bound city into a globally notorious den of peril. Despite how forsaken the streets appear, a certain order does prevail in this place, even as it serves as a hotbed of crime. At its core lies a commercial district, alongside one of Asia's largest red-light districts. Whether only the strong manage to endure, survival here demands caution in choosing which powerful allies to befriend.
