Synopsis
Since childhood, Minoru Kagenou has been driven by an insatiable hunger for power, subjecting himself to grueling and often brutal training. Yet, his goal is not fame but anonymity. While maintaining a facade as an ordinary student during the day, he spends his nights using a crowbar to dismantle local bike gangs. His aspirations seem crushed when a truck accident leaves him near death. Confronting his end, he regrets his frailty, realizing that despite his efforts, he could not transcend human limitations. Instead of perishing, Minoru is reborn as Cid, the second son of the prestigious Kagenou family, in a world where magic is commonplace. Equipped with the power he once desired, he adopts the persona of "Shadow" and establishes Shadow Garden, an organization dedicated to battling the enigmatic Cult of Diablos—an enemy fabricated entirely by Cid's imagination. However, as Shadow Garden expands in size and influence, it becomes evident that the Cult of Diablos is a genuine and formidable threat, far beyond anything Cid ever anticipated.
Background
Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! was released on Blu-ray and DVD in four volumes from January 25, 2023, to April 26, 2023. The anime adapts volumes 1 and 2 of the light novel series.
