Synopsis
Following a ten-year quest to slay the Demon King, the hero's party—consisting of Himmel, the priest Heiter, the dwarf warrior Eisen, and the elven mage Frieren—cultivates profound bonds and gathers cherished memories. Yet, having existed for over a thousand years, Frieren initially views her time with these comrades as but a fleeting moment within her immense lifespan. After their triumph and separation, she resumes her customary search for spells throughout the world, seemingly indifferent due to her unique perception of time. As the years advance, Frieren slowly comprehends the true significance of the days she shared with the hero's party. The passing of two former companions drives her to reflect on her prior neglect, prompting a resolve to better understand human emotions and forge genuine connections. Although their epic adventure has concluded, a new chapter in Frieren's life is just beginning.
Background
Sousou no Frieren was released on Blu-ray and DVD in seven volumes from January 24, 2024, to July 17, 2024. The series aired on Nippon TV's Friday Anime Night block.
