Synopsis

Before ascending to become the formidable captain of the Survey Corps, a young Levi endured a brutal existence in the Underground, a squalid district beneath the capital. He commanded a gang of outlaws, including Isabel Magnolia and Farlan Church, surviving through illicit means. With little hope for a better future, Levi accepted a contract from Nicholas Lobov, the head of the anti-expedition faction, to assassinate Erwin Smith, a leader of the Survey Corps, in exchange for citizenship in the world above. When Levi and Erwin's paths inevitably crossed, Erwin recognized Levi's extraordinary skills and issued an ultimatum: join the expedition team or face the Military Police for his past crimes. As the group approaches their target, they prepare to execute their mission and flee the oppressive life they knew below. However, they soon realize that the surface world is far from the promised paradise they envisioned, and true freedom demands a heavy price. Based on the popular spin-off manga of the same title, Shingeki no Kyojin: Kuinaki Sentaku depicts the meeting of two key figures in Shingeki no Kyojin, along with the events leading up to the 23rd expedition beyond the walls.
