Synopsis

In 1863, Izuminokami Kanesada and his companion Horikawa Kunihiro travel back in time to the streets of Edo, responding to their master's warning about an impending enemy attack. As living embodiments of swords once owned by Toshizou Hijikata, their duty is to protect historical events from the Retrograde Army, a group determined to alter the past. Throughout the Bakumatsu period, they gather more sword warriors to join their battle against this mysterious foe. Yet their journey is not without hardship. Amidst the turbulent era they strive to defend, they encounter violence and betrayal, forcing them into difficult choices when everything they hold dear is at risk.
