Synopsis
The day before the junior high school's cultural festival, Typhoon Number 8 starts moving toward the remote Okinawan town of Naha. As the storm develops, a mysterious girl wearing an unusual necklace suddenly appears, startling Shuuichi Azuma. After a bitter fight with his close friend Kenta Saijou about leaving the baseball team, Azuma spots the same girl sitting on top of an electrical tower just as a lightning strike cuts the school's power, causing her to fall. Refusing to stay in the same room as Saijou, Azuma rushes outside to save the enigmatic girl as the typhoon grows stronger.
Background
Taifuu no Noruda won the New Face Award at the 19th Japan Media Arts Festival in 2015. The film is licensed in the US by Sentai Filmworks as Typhoon Noruda. The company released the movie on Blu-ray on January 23, 2018.
