Synopsis

Continues the story of Bureau of Paranormal Investigation

While on a mission near the Yunnan border to capture drug traffickers, a special forces unit accidentally discovers and interrupts an ancient ritual deep within the caves of the Shu civilization, which has been ongoing for centuries. The squad suffers severe casualties, leaving only Shen Shuang and anti-narcotics officer Sun Desheng alive, saved by a mysterious white-haired figure named Wu Hao. In the aftermath, the two survivors are recruited into the "Civil Affairs Investigation and Research Bureau" and become increasingly drawn into paranormal incidents, gradually uncovering the existence of a concealed world.

After being gravely wounded during a mission, Shen La—a special investigator with the Poll Bureau, an agency that manages mysterious incidents—was on the brink of death when he received the inheritance of Wu Rendi, the director of the Sixth Office: a "seed" imbued with mysterious power. Upon recovering consciousness, Wu Rendi's senior brother Guangren took him on as a disciple. In pursuit of the fragments of the Tianli Diagram, Shen La endured the trials of the Tianshan Wolf Tomb, the energy backlash, and the foundation conspiracy. Eventually, he gained Wu Rendi's recognition and was bestowed the ancient artifact—the Twin Swords of Crime and Punishment. Meanwhile, the issue of the mole within the Poll Bureau has only grown more tangled and enigmatic, and Shen La and his partner Sun Desheng are once again called to action.
