In the easygoing Chiba Prefecture, where things move slowly, Shikawa Ako is a perfectly ordinary high school student living a decidedly average life. However, her routine gets thrown into chaos when she becomes the focal point of the hilarious and bizarre occurrences depicted in The Legend of Super Normal Prefecture Chiba. Ako's involvement transforms her mundane days into a spectacle of absurd and comedic mayhem.

Mito Hamajoh is a second-year middle school student from Chiba City who often finds it difficult to fit in with her classmates. Her perspective shifts just before summer vacation when an unusual transfer student, Asumi Chishiro, shows up and frankly declares her disinterest in everyday affairs.
