Synopsis

Continues the story of Duel Masters

In the world of Duel Masters, five major civilizations coexist, and their realities can be brought to life through a card game played by duelists. These exceptionally skilled players are known as Kaijudo masters. Shobu Kirifuda is the top player at his local playground and dreams of attaining the same level of mastery as his father. His first step toward that goal is entering a nearby tournament, where he aims for victory. However, he suffers a devastating defeat at the hands of Knight, the world's foremost Kaijudo master. Despite this loss, Shobu finds motivation in the precious lessons his father left behind and resolves to continue as a duelist who cherishes the spirit of the game. With this mindset, he sets out on a journey toward success, recognizing that the true value lies in the path itself.

In this installment

After three years of intense training, Shobu returns to the Battle Arena tournament alongside his friends. But they come up against a dangerous new rival: Zakira and his group, the Fua Duelists. Zakira shows himself to be an incredibly skilled kaijudo duelist, on par with Hakuoh. The situation grows even more dire when Zakira takes Hakuoh captive and turns him into an enemy. Shobu and his allies must act quickly to stop their schemes. Can they rescue Hakuoh and put an end to the threat, or will Shobu meet with utter defeat and despair?

Background

The first 26 episodes of Duel Masters Charge were merged into 13 episodes (two episodes in one, cutting footage from both to still have 26 minutes of duration) for the English dub. These English-dubbed episodes became the last 13 of the America-exclusive season, Duel Masters Sacred Lands, but are also considered a new season called "Duel Masters 2.0". Duel Masters Chrage is the last season of the Duel Masters anime to get a Western dub.
