Synopsis

Midgar is an all-girls academy that draws attention not only for admitting its first male student, Yuu Mononobe, but also for its unusual student body—girls referred to as D's. These individuals have the extraordinary power to control dark matter and shape it into formidable weapons. Twenty-five years ago, D's did not exist. Their appearance coincided with the sudden emergence of monstrous beings called "Dragons," which ravaged the world before disappearing just as abruptly. After that period, some girls were born with distinctive markings on their skin and abilities similar to those of the Dragons. At Midgar, these D's train to control their powers, preparing to face the Dragons should they ever return. Yuu, the only known male D, joins their ranks. He must build relationships with the other students—including his estranged sister, who also attends the school—and cooperate with them to investigate and neutralize the looming Dragon threat.
