In "Tenchi Muyo! Tenchi Universe," Tenchi Masaki’s peaceful life is turned upside down after a spacecraft piloted by the notorious space pirate Ryouko Hakubi crashes near his family’s temple. When Tenchi saves Ryouko, he unintentionally draws a varied group of alien women to his home. These include the refined Princess Aeka and her energetic younger sister, Princess Sasami, from the planet Jurai; the absentminded first-class detective Mihoshi Kuramitsu and her efficient partner Kiyone Makibi; and the eccentric, brilliant scientist Washuu Hakubi. Each of these six women finds it difficult to adjust to Earth’s more straightforward way of life, causing frequent turmoil and complications for the overwhelmed Tenchi. Despite the trouble they bring, Tenchi develops deep bonds with every one of them, helping him better comprehend his own place in the universe.

In this installment

In a far-off region of the galaxy, the escaped convict Kain breaks out of prison and causes massive destruction by demolishing the Galaxy Police Headquarters. Delighted by the turmoil he has unleashed, Kain turns his attention to a larger objective on Earth. Back on Earth, Tenchi Masaki and his friends are viewing old home videos featuring his mother, Achika. While the footage plays, Achika slowly starts to vanish from the screen, and shortly after, Tenchi himself begins to fade. Fortunately, a device created by Washuu Hakubi prevents Tenchi from disappearing entirely. The group quickly deduces that Kain is responsible for Achika's disappearance and suspect he has meddled with the timeline. To protect his own existence and the future, Tenchi travels through time with his companions, aiming to prevent his mother from suffering a fatal fate.
