
Synopsis
Kouhei Araki, a veteran editor in Genbu Publishing's dictionary division, intends to retire to care for his ill wife. Before stepping down, he must find a successor for his ongoing project—a new dictionary titled "The Great Passage." However, locating someone with the required commitment and patience proves difficult. Mitsuya Majime, who works in Genbu Publishing's sales department, often struggles with social skills and reading social cues. Yet Majime possesses a profound love for words, driven by his passion for reading and his meticulous nature. Recognizing these qualities, Araki offers Majime a role on the dictionary editorial team. As Majime begins his new position, he confronts doubts about his abilities and worries about fitting into his new team. Nonetheless, through the expansive realm of lexicography, "The Great Passage" brings everyone closer together.
