Synopsis

In the online game Glory, Ye Xiu is known as "Battle God" for his extraordinary skill and major contributions as a top-tier professional player. After an unexpected retirement from his esports career, he takes a job at a local internet café. When Glory's tenth server launches, Ye Xiu returns to the game using the name Lord Grim. As he quickly climbs the ranks, many players and well-known guilds become curious about this powerful newcomer. Despite having deep gaming experience and a thorough understanding of the game, Ye Xiu struggles to adjust to the game's updates and to progress without a team or sponsor. Together with new, talented allies, Ye Xiu sets out on another journey to reach the top of Glory.

The All-Star Tournament runs for three days, offering professional e-sports competitors from a range of clubs a platform to showcase their talents, while also giving everyday Glory fans a rare opportunity to meet the pros in person. When Chen Guo manages to secure three tickets, Ye Xiu—a former elite Glory player who has since retired—agrees to join her and Tang Rou in attending the event. For Ye Xiu, the experience carries an odd weight, as this marks the first time he finds himself at the tournament as a spectator rather than a participant. Still, despite his efforts to stay under the radar, the happenings at the All-Star Tournament may well push the former Glory icon back into the spotlight.

Background

Quanzhi Gaoshou Specials adapts events from Quanzhi Gaoshou, a Chinese serial web novel written by Butterfly Blue. It received the title for Best Work in 2013 and is the first and only 1000 Pledged Work on Qidian.
