Toudou, Heisuke
Summary
Toudou Heisuke is a dark-haired, dark-eyed member of the Shinsengumi who serves as an advisor. As a core component of the Comedian Three, he provides significant comic relief to the series, often displaying warped interpretations of Hijikata's 'new page' by absurdly claiming Hijikata selected him for his prowess in bed. Despite his humorous role, he is deeply devoted to the Shinsengumi and is one of the senior members, having joined during the group's early days in Musashi. He practices the Hokushin-itto-ryuu sword style alongside Yamanami. Toudou is rarely observed performing patrol duties in Kyoto; instead, his time is typically spent teasing Tetsu or fixating on Ayumu's meals.
