Broly
Seiyuu / Dub
Summary
Recognized as the Legendary Super Saiyan, a title said to appear once every thousand years, Broly possessed an immense power level even at birth that set him apart from other Saiyans. Fearing this potential threat, King Vegeta ordered his execution, but Broly’s father, Paragus, pleaded for his life. The King responded by blasting both father and son, intending to let them die. While Paragus survived with severe injuries, Broly not only endured the attack but grew stronger in the process. During the subsequent destruction of Planet Vegeta by Frieza, who sought to eliminate the Super Saiyan legend, Broly and Paragus used an energy shield to escape the planet. Despite his overwhelming power, Broly suffered from severe emotional instability. To manage his volatile nature, Paragus had a scientist create a control device to keep him in check. Using this device, Paragus planned to weaponize Broly against King Vegeta’s son, Prince Vegeta. When Broly first encountered Son Goku, he became erratic until Paragus reasserted control. However, Broly eventually overpowered the device, unleashing his full power and defeating Goku, Vegeta, Son Gohan, Future Trunks, and Piccolo. The Z warriors combined their energy to empower Goku for a final strike that appeared to kill Broly. Broly survived and traveled in a Saiyan Space Pod, inadvertently landing on Earth. His impact created a crater that filled with water and froze, causing him to fall into a deep slumber. Years passed, with Gohan growing up, Son Goten being born, and Goku residing in the Afterlife. During a quest to collect the Dragon Balls, Goten, Trunks, and Gohan ventured into the mountain range where Broly had crashed. Broly awakened and devastated the area, attacking Goten, Trunks, Videl, and Gohan. With spiritual guidance from Goku, the group managed to send Broly directly into the sun, ending his rampage.
