Known officially as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, this character is widely recognized in fandom simply as Northern Cyprus or TRNC. He is depicted as a small child who cannot physically mature because his state lacks international recognition, with Turkey being the sole nation to acknowledge him. Consequently, he deeply respects and looks up to Turkey, even mimicking his appearance by dressing similarly. His birthday falls on November 15, and he speaks in a serious, stern, and quiet monotone voice, displaying a proud demeanor. His older brother is Cyprus, a separate entity in the Hetalia series, a relationship often misunderstood by fans. The two share a good rapport and have discussed the possibility of unifying into a single country in a Hetalia drama CD, though no resolution was ever reached. Northern Cyprus is currently attempting to persuade Cyprus to befriend Turkey rather than Greece.
