Yukikaze
Summary
Yukikaze is a Begleiter associated with Ayanami, a figure referenced solely in the first drama CD. Ayanami once declared at his grave, "There is only one Begleiter I have loved, which is you." In manga chapter 26, an officer appears in Ayanami’s memories, stating, "watashi no ou wa anata dake desu, Ayanami-sama" (Only you are my king, Ayanami-sama). Many fans speculate this officer is Yukikaze, noting that Hyuuga does not use teineigo when addressing Ayanami, though the officer’s name remains unconfirmed. According to a one-shot manga illustrated by the creators of 07-Ghost titled Begleiter, Ayanami had a Begleiter prior to becoming Chief of Staff. This predecessor died protecting Ayanami during a battle, leading Ayanami to reject all subsequent applicants for the role. When Hyuuga remarked that Yukikaze was not the only one who cared for Ayanami, Ayanami threatened him by pointing his sword. This character has not been assigned a voice actor.
