Heard, Beluga
Summary
Beluga J. Heard serves as Number XI among the Chronos Numbers and acts as the long-range attacker for the Cerberus Unit. He fights using a bazooka called Verethragna. In the manga, his story concludes when he sacrifices himself to help Jenos and Naizer escape from the collapsing hideout of the Apostles of the Stars. This occurs after a botched attempt on Creed’s life, which was triggered by Jenos’s reckless interference. The anime adaptation presents Belouga as identical to his manga counterpart regarding his role and abilities. However, the narrative leaves his fate ambiguous following the escape. He is presumed dead since he does not appear again after the castle assault. The final scene featuring him shows him and Naizer launching an attack on Creed. The camera pans out to reveal the ruined castle and a massive explosion. During the battle within the castle, Beluga clashes with Shiki. Shiki initially believes Beluga is firing wildly and wasting his shots, but he realizes too late that the true target was the castle’s supporting walls, causing the structure to collapse.
