Summary
Cecelia, also known as Cyndia, was Pegasus’ childhood sweetheart. The pair first crossed paths at a party hosted by his businessman father in Las Vegas, fourteen years prior to the events of Duelist Kingdom. After marrying Pegasus, who worked as an artist during that period, she was the constant subject of his sketches. Tragically, Cecelia succumbed to an illness shortly after their wedding at the age of seventeen. This loss drove Pegasus to seek a means of resurrecting her, a quest that ultimately led him to obtain the Millennium Eye from Shadi. His deep affection for his late wife was revealed to Yugi Muto and his companions when they discovered Pegasus’ diary, which laid bare his emotions. In the original storyline, his ruthless tactics against Yugi and his friends to seize control of Kaiba Corp were motivated by his desire to use the company’s resources to construct a hologram of Cecelia. However, in the English dub, his objective was to merge the power of the Millennium Items with Kaiba Corp’s holographic technology to bring Cecelia back to life.
