Summary
Born on September 11, 1970, with a Furyoku level of 3,000, Peyote is a Mexican shaman who first appears around Chapter 115 of the manga. Known as Ramiro in the English anime, he utilizes his spirits to possess the BoZ and integrates Mariachi spirits with Mexican skeleton puppets, which symbolize death in his culture. Initially defeated by Ren, he later reappears in a battle where he manages to kill the younger shaman. His final appearance occurs much later when he becomes disillusioned with Hao, betraying his master by killing his fellow followers and committing suicide. Along with Turbine, he is one of the only two of Hao’s henchmen whose bodies are damaged beyond repair, preventing their revival. He frequently says "Eres correcto," a slightly mistranslated phrase meaning "You are correct," when others make accurate affirmations. The name Peyote refers to a spineless cactus native to Mexico and the Southern United States, from which a hallucinogenic drug is prepared. His spirits include Carlos and Juan, who were gunned down by angry saloon patrons, and Mariachi players Antonio, Jose, Pancho, Miguel, and Zapata, who died in various fights.
