Pheles
Summary
Pheles is a lord who harbors deep, enduring love for the human Johan. To secure their union forever, they forged the Reiji Maigo, a Treasure within Guze capable of granting eternity to the Mystes who possesses it. This artifact allows Pheles to sustain herself on Johan’s power of existence without risking his disappearance, eliminating the need to consume others. After Johan was critically injured in a battle against Sabrac, an assassin from the Bal Masque, Pheles sealed her lover inside the Reiji Maigo. Unbeknownst to her, Sabrac had also placed the Silver into the Hougu at the same time. Following the loss of the Reiji Maigo, Pheles searches for Johan using the Unrestricted Method known as The Wheel of Wind (Kaze no Tenrin), which creates a duplicate of herself when the target is located. She maintains a friendship with Wilhelmina, whom she previously rescued from a trap set by the Denizen Lord Sabrac. In the light novels, Johan uses Yuuji’s body to convince Pheles not to sacrifice current Mystes for his revival, and she ultimately agrees to his wishes before departing. While she does not appear in the first season of the anime, she makes an appearance in the second season near the end of episode twelve during her quest.
