Mana, Tatsuo
Summary
Tatsuo Mana was a childhood friend of Asaga who suffered from a hereditary illness. His prolonged sickness fostered resentment toward the outside world, leading him to enter Psyren where he attempted to recruit Asaga by offering a card, which was refused. Within Psyren, he appeared as a masked figure wielding a rifle powered by his PSI energy. After eliminating everyone except for five survivors, he destroyed part of a building before engaging Amamiya. Amamiya identified him as a Burst user who also utilized Rise for physical combat. Upon entering Trance, Amamiya discovered that Tatsuo had been transformed into a Tavoo through the implantation of an orb. Although Ageha’s attack helped restore his consciousness, his core remained fused to his body. Lacking a card, he was trapped in Psyren with his life tied to his core’s energy reserves, though he vowed to find a solution. He described his time as a Tavoo as being imprisoned in another’s body and expressed deep regret for his actions. He reappeared in chapter 69 to rescue Asaga from Taboos and was later seen plotting with a new Asaga to dismantle a tower. During W.I.S.E.’s assault on Tenju’s Root, he rode Hiryu’s dragon PSI and used his gun to pierce the dark sky, exposing the sun and causing local Tavoo to disintegrate.
