Kirisaki, Kyouko
Summary
Kirisaki Kyouko is a seventeen-year-old half-Earthling, half-alien idol renowned for her ability to generate and hurl fire at will. She initially crosses paths with Run when the latter portrays an antagonist on her television program, eventually becoming friends with her. Kyouko is most famous for her role as the titular character in the magical girl series Magical Kyouko, which is beloved by Lala and frequently forced upon Rito for viewing. She later reappears when Run invites Rito to be her date; although Kyouko correctly deduces they are not romantically involved, she cheerfully wishes them luck. Since their debut, she and Run have collaborated on various projects, including releasing several songs together. Later, when Rito and his friends receive invitations to an RPG world partially created by Lala, an image of Kyouko is programmed into the game. Nana and Momo modify her code, transforming her into the Demon King. In this role, she tasks Rito with finding a way home for himself and his friends, but only if he abandons Lala and promises to become her boyfriend. To increase Rito’s anxiety, the Demon King threatens to destroy the group if he fails to confess his feelings for Lala. In a comedic twist, the otherwise invincible Kyouko is defeated by a watering can that only Rito can wield. Kyouko serves as a homage to Kirisaki Kyouko from Black Cat, sharing the same voice actress in their respective drama CDs and animated adaptations. She even refers to herself as her Black Cat counterpart, sharing traits such as fire manipulation and the same age, though their physical stats like height, weight, birthday, and blood type differ.
