Summary
Victoria Terpsichore is a tough-talking widowed space trucker whose late husband, Ural Terpsichore, was revered by fellow bounty hunters as a legendary figure. She first appears in the episode "Heavy Metal Queen," where she is accompanied by her cat, Zeros. Spike encounters her in a bar while pursuing Decker, an explosive-smuggling criminal. After a bar brawl involving several of Decker’s stooges, Spike and Victoria seem to strike up a friendship, but her attitude shifts when she discovers Spike is a bounty hunter, whom she initially dismisses as lowlife scum. Despite this disdain, she reluctantly teams up with him when their paths cross again, as she is also searching for Decker, who fled the scene after hitting and running one of her fellow truck drivers. Her full name remains largely a secret, leading many to wager money on what her initials stand for, though she has successfully collected from everyone who guessed incorrectly. Known as the "Heavy Metal Queen," she has a deep love for heavy metal music, which she finds very soothing. Adaptable to various situations, she lives by the philosophy that when in Rome, one should do as the Romans do. It is believed that her husband was killed while pursuing a bountyhead, reflecting her general contempt for bounty hunters. Spike learns her first name briefly when he sees her pocket watch, but he already knows her last name due to the enduring popularity and memory of her deceased husband.
