Aramaki, Daisuke est le sage et puissant chef de la Section 9, s'appuyant sur son vaste réseau de contacts internationaux et corporatifs pour fournir à son équipe les informations cruciales nécessaires à l'accomplissement de leurs missions. Bien qu'il jouisse d'un grand respect de la part de ses subordonnés, on le surnomme parfois « Singe » dans le manga, un surnom probablement dû à sa coiffure atypique et à ses traits faciaux. Il participe rarement directement aux opérations policières, préférant travailler dans l'ombre pour coordonner les efforts de ses agents, prendre des décisions rapides et autoritaires, et exercer un contrôle strict sur Kusanagi.
