Saruwatari

Summary

Kemo served as an employee of KaibaCorp during the tenure of Gozaburo Kaiba. When Zigfried von Schroeder infected the company’s mainframe, Kemo was the one who informed Gozaburo of the breach. After Seto Kaiba confronted his uncle regarding the decision to weaponize Seto’s virtual technology, Gozaburo ordered two guards, including Kemo, to escort Seto out of the building. During the Duelist Kingdom tournament, Kemo worked for Maximillion Pegasus. He was responsible for apprehending Mokuba Kaiba following the boy’s duel with Yami Yugi. When Yami challenged Kemo to a duel for Mokuba’s freedom, Kemo declined to play himself and instead arranged for Ghost Kaiba to face Yami. Despite Yami’s victory, Kemo still returned Mokuba to Pegasus. Upon Seto Kaiba’s arrival on the island, Kemo approached him, noting the passage of time. He held a gun to Kaiba’s head, but Kaiba disarmed him using the card "Gyakutenno Megami" to jam the weapon, a scene that was omitted from the dub. Kaiba then compelled Kemo to lead him to Mokuba’s cell. Later, Kemo served as a guard at the entrance to Pegasus’ castle, attempting to prevent Téa Gardner, Tristan Taylor, and Bakura Ryou from entering since they were not duelists. Mai Valentine distracted him by flirting with him, allowing the others to slip inside and close the door behind them. During Yugi Muto and Joey Wheeler’s first stay in the Virtual World, Kemo attempted to break into the room where their physical bodies were kept. Téa and Tristan mounted a desperate defense, using furniture to barricade the door. After everyone awoke following the defeat of the Big Five, Kemo fled, effectively leaving him unemployed.
