Summary
Renge Houshakuji is the self-proclaimed manageress of the Host Club, known for her loud and outspoken nature. She spent her childhood in France before enrolling at Ouran High School, a decision driven by a photograph of Kyoya given to her by her father. Initially approaching the group under the delusion that she was Kyoya’s fiancée, despite never having met him, Renge’s worldview is heavily influenced by her obsession with visual novel-style video games, which she sometimes mistakes for reality. Her interest in Kyoya stems from a specific dating sim, yet her familiarity with the genre makes her particularly attentive to character development and plot intricacies. Tamaki initially permitted her role as manager with the intention that she would serve as a female companion for Haruhi, hoping to encourage her to adopt a more feminine demeanor.
